We do AQA Modern World

Paper 1 - International Relations 1900-49
Paper 2 - Depth Studies on Germany and USA
Coursework - Evacuation and Dunkirk and the Battle of Britain

So far we've never struggled to fit it all in. Though I've heard many a rumour that OCR is easier?
But I inherited this, and enjoy it - I've now been an examiner for paper 1 for two years and found it really helpful. Happy to swap any resources!

Helen

At my prvious school we taught AQA, here I do OCR, as for it being easier, I would say that it is the same (but different!!???) not easier, just easier to teach logically!

That make any sense? :ohno:

OCR

- American West - good fun, lots of roleplay opportunities which our lot love.
- Medicine Through Time - We call it Blood, Guts, Gore and More. Goes down pretty well with most and we do fairly well on Paper 2.
- Local Study Coursework is specific to the Georgian House at the centre of our campus (sounds a lot more posh than it is)
- Currently do Northern Ireland as the Modern World Study, but have just decided to switch to the Chris Culpin designed unit on Global Terror. Polls of the kids revealed (unsuprisingly) that this was a far more popular option and teaching Northern Ireland has become harder and harder as it gets less and less news coverage over here.

We start Y10 with Am West, then do our Local Study, then do MTT up to end of Middle Ages, return to Y11 and do Modern World Coursework and then complete MTT. Strange, I know, but our lot find doing coursework back to back (as we did before) very challenging, so we split things up a bit and saw a slight improvement in results.

Happy Days!
