Hi,
Regarding the PLTS recent fuss, I've put together a v basic version of some PLTS statements that pupils can use regarding History. See what you think! I plan to cut each speech bubble out, laminate them and possibly put them up on a display board in my class where pupils could select them in a plenary or something- 'Which PLTS elements have we used today kids?!' (or some such!) Think I'll have pic's of the kids on there too or heads of famous people in History or staff in the school so there's a bit of variety to it. The idea's not fully formed but I'll attach the word doc's with the info on as it might be some use to someone. They are colour coded

We are independent Enquirers (blue)
We are creative thinkers (red)
We can work in a team (green)
We are self managers (purple)
We are effective participators (orange)
We are reflective learners (pink)

Hi Jen,
I've made some basic posters of examples of plts in History I'm thinking of using them alongside your files in the classroom. They could do with some improving but I hope they help.

These are all great posters thanks so much for sharing. We don't seem to be making a fuss about PLTS where I work yet, but I will now what I'm doing when we do!

It's done done yet, but I'm going hard core and laminating it all first!
Also adding my GCSE pupils' faces into pic's of cowboys ready for the speech bubbles
(well, I think I'm funny!)

Daft laddie question : PLTS????
“All men dream; but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity; but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act out otheir dreams with open eyes, to make it possible.”.(T.E. Lawrence)

Thanks guys, these are great resources, I'm setting up a display board on these PLTS tomorrow as we've got OFSTED in as soon as we come back and SMT are all talking about PLTS at the moment. Many thanks.

I've been working on a PLTS booklet for new Year 7 pupils to use in PSHE when they arrive in September which gets them thinking about PLTS.
It's based on the Building Learning Power leaflets - VERY GOOD and well worth investing in as a school (see website of the same name).
The booklet is generic but asks pupils to think about what skills they have been developing in subject areas in their first half term and write them into the correct categories.
We will be introducing it this September so it's a bit of a prototype at the moment!

I will endeavour to attach, but if it doesn't come through successfully then please PM me and I'll be happy to forward it on to you.

Regards
Sharon

Thank you so much for sharing these - I am in the process of putting together some PLTs 'stuff' for next term so this will be really useful.

[Found this really helpful. Will certainly impress very impressionable SLT who seem to go in for such displays.quote name='JenniferJames' date='Apr 13 2009, 07:19 PM' post='83459']
