Last year I taught
Edexcel

Unit 3 - our own coursework - the reasons for the failure of the BUF

Unit 5 - Our own coursework - Antisemitism between medieval and Victtorian periods

Prior to this I taught
Edexcel

Hope this helps

Dear Amanda

I am moving to a new school in September and I need to teach Fascist Itlay in Year 12 and 13.
However, the school does not have SOW for Year 12 and 13.
I wonder whether I can use your school's sow? Would you be kind enough to send them to me
please?

Thanks

Andras

hi - I am, but there are very few resources. One is due out shortly for this period though. Think it is by Heinneman. PM me, if I can help.

Hi

I am going to be teaching the AQA Tsarist Russia option Unit 1H. I'm new to the school, there is no scheme of work or anything. Does any kind person out there have anything I could have a look at? I know AQA have provided a scheme of work but I would really like to see how people approach this topic. I'm particularly nervous about the last bit, coming up to the 1917 revolutions as I've done quite a bit of reading over the summer and still find it complicated. Thanks in advance.

Hi.
Does anyone teach the development of limited monarchy (stuarts) for A2 OCR themes paper? I am teaching it for the first (and last as we are changing to Tudor Rebellions next year) time and am really stuck as none of the books seem to cover exactly what they seem to be asking for. has anyone got any general advice on how to do the themes paper in general. For example - is it a good idea for them to have the insert sheet with all the dates on it from the beginning of the course so that they can become especially awae of what's on them? they haven't had it before but to me it seems like a good idea? Please help! would be glad of any advice cos am totally stressed after having a baby and now starting at a new school with totally new topics in every year :(

I am teaching AQA's Totalitarian Regimes in Theory and Practice.

Is anyone else? It would be great to have a chat about how you are finding the unit, especially as I am an NQT!!

Cheers.

EDEXCEL

Unit 1 - Just changed to Russia in Revolution (was Poverty and the British state but the kids, and teachers, found it dull!!) Any help/resources here would be great!

Unit 2 - France in Revolution - taught this a few times

Unit 3 - War and the French Revoltionary State - as above

Unit 4 - the Boubons Restored: France 1815-30 - done a bit

Unit 5 - Personal study/coursework

Unit 6 - Radicalism and the British State: Chartists - taught by others in dept many times.

Hope these lists lead to some exchanges!

Refreshing to see the French options being taught. I thought that I was alone! A pity that the new structure means that I can't teach them anymore.

Hi

I am teaching the OCR Syllabus A.
The Upper sixth are on the old syllabus still and are covering Gladstone and Disraeli with me and the Themes Paper on Russia with my colleague. I do the independent investigation with them too. (Wa-hoo!)

The Lower Sixth have just started the new syllabus A and are covering China 1911-1990 with me alongside Churchill.
We're sticking with Russia and Glad and Dizzy in the Upper Sixth with the new syllabus.

Would love to be in touch with anybody teaching the China option - there seems to be quite a good community of Churchill teachers out there but I am struggling to find anybody else covering my (or any other) China option.

Thanks
Jeremy

We've gone for Edexcel's new spec, with the following options for a predominately 18th-19th century course with themes of empire, absolutism, revolution and social change:

Unit 1: The Slave Trade and its abolition
Britain and the American colonies
The formation of the British Raj

Unit 2: The experience of warfare: Crimea, Boer and First World War

A2

Probably...
France 1789-1830
&
Enlightened Despotism

Is there anyone else doing anything remotely like this?!

Good evening all,
I'm about to start teaching Henry VIII from OCR and was wondering if anybody had any schemes of work I could have a look at?
Many thanks in advance,
Nick
