I am teaching OCR.

Anyone else teach the AS document paper on Nazi Germany or Liberals and Labour 1899-1918? For A2 I teach Civil Rights in America 1865-1980.

Interested in swapping resources and advice as I'm new to teaching A'level this year.

Very interested to see so many teaching Edexcel as am hoping to change to this (just started at a new school)

Interested in doing
Unit 1 : Poverty/Poor Law
Unit 2 : Railways
Unit 3 : Parliamentary Reform
(Builds nicely from GCSE)

Unit 4: ????
Unit 5 ?????
Unit 6 Nazi Germany

Does anyone do similar???
Also, any suggestions/ideas from experience about coursework/personal study OR exam for units 4/5. Easier for students? Why have so many of you gone for exam only route?

I do parliamentary reform for unit 3 and 5.

I have done unit 5 as courseowrk and found the grades never came out that high as the boundaries are so high for the coursework
It's only a job!

Just a quick post to bump this thread up and remind members of its existence.

Do add (or modify) what you teach at AS and A2. It helps a lot to find others doing the same/similar courses.

We teach AQA Early Modern and Modern History.

I teach the World History part (Alternative H) Rise and Decline of the Great Powers, The Cold War, The Vietnam War and Eastern Europe. We will be doing the personal study this year instead of the UN paper.

Unit 1 - Just changed to Russia in Revolution (was Poverty and the British state but the kids, and teachers, found it dull!!) Any help/resources here would be great!

Unit 2 - France in Revolution - taught this a few times

Unit 3 - War and the French Revoltionary State - as above

Unit 4 - the Boubons Restored: France 1815-30 - done a bit

Unit 5 - Personal study/coursework

Unit 6 - Radicalism and the British State: Chartists - taught by others in dept many times.

Hope these lists lead to some exchanges!

Hi Guys

We teach AQA Options Q for British and D for European

AS
Britain 1815 - 1841
French Revolution, Treaty of Vienna and Congress System
AS Coursework Essays: Poor Law and Reforms of the Anglican Church

A2
Britain 1841 - 1885
France 1814 - 1914
Italian Unification
Cousework: Personal Studies

The one thing AQA does seem to do well these days is A Levels.

I'll happily trade resources, schemes of work with anyone who is doing the same or even thinking of changing.

I've just attached my latest British AS & A2 Schemes of work if anyone would like a copy. I've also included an old but still very good Italian Unification Scheme of work. Our AS & A2 European Schemes are currently under review.Attached File  AS_Britsh_1815___1841.doc (466.5K)
Number of downloads: 326Attached File  AS_Britsh_Foreign_Policy_1815___1830.doc (258.5K)
Number of downloads: 189Attached File  A2_Britsh_1843___1885.doc (388.5K)
Number of downloads: 264achment]Attached File  Italian_Unification.doc (70.5K)
