This new version is much more powerful but I will do as promised earlier in this topic and make it look as close to the old version as possible. A couple of people have asked about the 'show new posts' option - that is now 'View new content' at the top right of each page.

It is also worth clicking on the name (if logged in) and then 'My settings'. You can change a few options in there including keeping your e-mail address private and the using 'rich text editor' option. All e-mail addresses are automatically hidden unless a member is logged in. If you choose the 'keep my e-mail address private' option this prevents it being shown at all.

I'll also look to see if there is a useful chat option to add back into the board.

Following requests 'Chat' is now back on the forum. Not perfectly integrated yet as the option to show 'who's chatting' doesn't appear at the bottom - but I hope this will appear soon. I'd also it rather appeared in a pop-up window automatically, rather than having to select an option, but I'm sure ways to fix this can also be found.

Do give it a try in the meantime.

This is almost certainly a silly question, but where do I click to see all my old PMs?

On your name at the top - this will display a drop-down menu with all your options. You can also click on your name in any posts you've made and it will take you to your own profile area.

After not being on here for ages (long story!) I find the changes a little unsettling.

Sorry about that! As stated above, we will make use of the old 'look' skin too as soon as it is released. I've also toned down lots of features such as 'status updates' and suchlike. Nothing untoward going on though - I promise.

Thanks for the postive response to the 'chat' feature - looks like it was worth adding it back in.

However, there is clearly a mixed response to the 'look' of this new update. As stated earlier in this thread, I do plan to move the default look back to what we had before, as soon as the forum makers release their 'skin'.

In the meantime, I've added some additional options - you can select these using the drop-down list at the bottom. None of them has the proper 'History Teachers' Discussion Forum' title added (even the current default one is temporary) but if there is one you like the look of, please do post here.

Ditto that for me but I'm sure I'll feel quite at home again after I've had a bit of a poke around.

HELP!!!

I seem to have chosen to ignore loads of peoples comments on the forum, but I have no idea how I've done it or how to undo it!!

In future I would like to pick who to ignore after I have read their comment, rather than just blanket ignore all that they have said!!
