Hi
If any one else taught Pitt to Peel for the first time and were like me dismayed by thier results can you let me know in my area of West Sussex 3 big centres are appealing their results. Out of 14 entries 9 were U grade and this is more distressing when I compare them to the 964 paper when they all gained or exceeded their target grade. I goes against alll my expericnces as over the last 10 years or so students have tended to do well in the essay paper and not so well in the documents.
On a similar issue - if anyone has found a decent text book or have any decent resources I would really aprreciate some.
I teach Germany democracy and dictatorship, Pitt to Peel, A2 American Civil Rights and Russian Revolutions, if anyone needs some resources.

As recounted on another thread, we had the opposite experience: good, as predicted results on F961 (British Foreign Policy 1945-90); dreadful, out of expected rank order marks on F964 (First Crusade). I know of two other local schools who have suffered similarly odd grades on the document paper.
I am still awaiting OCR's reply to my letter of complaint and re-mark requests. Something very bad seems to have happened to OCR's standard of marking this year. Are they deliberately trying to drive all their centres away to AQA and Edexcel?

In memory of my boyhood hero Jim Clark (1936-1968): 'Chevalier Sans Peur et Sans Reproche'.

We also had poor results on F961, although we do Britain 1918 - 51. I have put a 'guide' together as regards how to answer the question (as i think it is the skills our students had problems with) and it is on here (just look for a thread i started!)
You actually do 3 of our units, this is the only different one! We are doing Civil Rights coursework, together with USA 1918 - 41 as the board set interpretations one.

Thanks very much for the booklet - very useful. I have just had my remarks back and 5 of 9 have improved - 2 studnets by 20 yes 20 marks
