Hi, this is actually for one of my French classes but I thought one of you may know the answer. I have downloaded some clips from youtube. The end of Gone with the Wind for example. Pupils have rescripted the end and recorded this and saved it as an audio clip. When we open the movie maker however it seems impossible to silence the original gone with the wind clip - which has been imported in -. I have tried lowering the volume but it just mutes the speaker. And even having the speakers at mute and then resaving it as a clip the sound is still there. At the moment we are playing the film through the smartboard and the voice dubbing through a laptop but I'd really like to combine them. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Many thanks

It sounds like you need to change the audio level between the video and a sound clip. Simply change the audio level using the 'slider' - this is done by clicking on the 'set audio level' icon just above the storyboard (furthest left)

HAHA! Have done it! :D What I did was click on a little icon next to the word video. ( I may have clicked on the word video first) A blue square with a blue cross in it. When I did this it divided the video into action and sound. I then right clicked on the sound sections and chose mute. Thanks for advice and hope this helps anyone else wanting to try it. The kids had great fun rewriting the script so i think I will try it with some history classes too.
