I am going to be interviewed for a head of History position in my current school. I have been at the school for 4 years and this is the first promotion I have gone for. There is one other candidate. I was just wondering if anyone could give me ideas about the types of questions that will be asked. The last interview I had was as an NQT so feeling a bit rusty.
Thanks for your help in advance.

I had an interview Friday for HOD and was asked the following areas -
[*]How to raise achievement
[*]My priorities for the department
[*]Supporting underachieving staff
[*]What makes a good history team
[*]How to achieve consistency in behaviour across the department
[*]How to achieve conistency in teaching and learning across the department
Hope that helps and good luck,
Jo

You forgot to add 'conistency in typing'
"Lesson planning is best undertaken when walking from the staffroom to the classroom. More detailed planning, by walking more slowly."

I would add to those about impact - what have you done in your current role and the impact that it has had. Also about leadership and management - what are they, how have you already demonstrated them.
