This one-day event provides teachers with the opportunity to share and obtain practical ideas for incorporating technology effectively into the curriculum.
Following a keynote address from renowned educationalist Shelly Terrell, delegates will choose to attend three sessions from a range of possible workshops, each delivered by an expert practitioner.

Is this not just an augmented TeachMeet?
Teachmeet format in the morning; specialist sessions in the afternoon from teachers at the school (3 from a choice of 13).
A great deal of effort is going into organising it by a lot of my colleagues to offer a free training day for anyone who wants to come.
I don't think dismissing it as an 'just an augmented TeachMeet' is particularly charitable either to the TeachMeet types or to my colleagues either.

It has never crossed my mind that the word 'augment' could be construed as being negative.

Conversely, not mentioning the Teachmeet format in the promotional page is now leading to the suggestion that we're not giving credit where credit's due, so it's basically a case of damned if we do, damned if we don't.
We will certainly be giving full credit on the day (when we can't be accused of just doing it for marketing purposes) for where the shape of the morning sessions drew their inspiration from - and if there's any promotional material that I can provide to delegates about Teachmeet we'd be delighted to share it on the day.

He and Ewan McIntosh were responsible for the development of the TeachMeet format at the outset - see here. I made it clear to Tom that I thought using that format for the morning part of the training day would be a great idea and he was delighted to offer us some advice and tips on how to set it up.
After putting the page to advertise the event here and before making it public, I contacted Tom to ask him to take a look at it and let me know if he thought it was appropriate. He said it looked fine, made a couple of useful suggestions for design improvements, and has continued to be very supportive of our project. At no point as he, Ewan or anyone else up till now made the suggestion that we've done anything inappropriate or disrespectful.
I'm dropping him an email now to point him towards this thread and ask him how and if, based on your concerns, I should change the existing page to something you will find acceptable.
