Does anyone have any resources which could fit into a module with the rough title of 'Inventions that changed the world?' for Year 8? Like many others, i am finding the Year 8 scheme of work a bit of a slog, and it could do with jazzing up. Ideally i'd like lessons that are active, that maybe have a practical element (e.g. making something, demonstrating something), and perhaps includes a cross curricular dimenson with Science.

If anyone has any ideas or resources I would really appreciate it - i'd happily share anything I created in return.

I do a balloon debate on the best inventor of the Industrial Revolution if you are interested.
