Just picked this up from the excellent Spartacus-linked Teaching History Online newsletter
Voices of the Powerless
I heard a couple of the programmes during the holidays and enjoyed them. On this site you can listen to the programmes again. There is also additional info. & images, primary sources and a quiz (can enter for a prize if you get 10/10) for each topic.
The critical moments studied in the first series are:
The Norman Conquest in York.
The Peasants' Revolt in London.
The Reformation in Essex and Suffolk.
The Plantation of Ireland in the Counties of Armagh and Tyrone.
The English Civil War and the Siege of Chester.
The Plague hits ear1y 17th century Salisbury.
Language level more suited to KS 4+ but excellent nontheless
Do take a look.
