Checking out the LearnHistory.org.uk Native American housing vote - it seems a couple of entrants have had a significant turnout. Dafydd - is this all above board, or has Carole 'Diana' Faithorn been up to her tricks again?

Whoops hell has Greenland Secondary Modern just got the internet or something?!

That igloo was well down before. Its also the fabourite of the Head of Geog at Stanley and I reckon she may be doing a Carole...

No9 is quite nice as the roof lifts off to show a couple of strangely modern striped mattresses, and also the real grass cuttings on no2 are turning brown. I am swayed between 1 and 5.

I did a Nicky and emailed some model suppliers. One sent me 10 diecast aeroplanes (he said were worth £16 each but I can't see it myself) for a link to a page on his site showing pictures of Bell Huey choppers, and the model shop down the road from the school is giving a £10 voucher for the winner!

No joy with Warners or finding contacts for other High St emporiums though.

When is the closing date for the contest?

You're going to have to work hard to explain the kid's prizes to them though. "Here you go kids - great Native American houses. Have a diecast aeroplane."

"Wot's that got to do wiv the Indjuns sir?"

"Erm... "

There's certainly some dodgy voting going on though - has the £10 model shop prize been advertised?

Ah I'll knock up some certificates or summat and see if the SMT has a special fund to buy them some book vouchers as well.

Failing that they could have some old O-level texts and a broken video recorder. Or some dried out whiteboard markers.

Perhaps a few bits of chewing tobacco out of a packet of Old Holborn?

They could pretend to be cowboys then!

If it would not be particularly cruel, I would suggest a poll on the honesty of Mrs Faithorn on this point.

However that would be unfair and I for one believe every word you say Carole. ;)

(Note no winking yellow face).

:)

... and she'd rig it anyway. :D :D

Aside from joking, I still am amazed at the support Diana got in the Great Britons vote. I still haven't met one person who voted for her.

Both my wife and my mother in law seemed to think that it was OK to vote for Diana as she was lovely after all. I did take steps to ensure that they did not actually do so.

Apart from these two hopleless cases I have not met anyone either.

I certainly did not. (vote for Diana)

Re the houses - I had nothing to do with that either. I think
I voted for No. 1
