I'd be interested to hear from any colleagues working north of the border who may be considering implementing Intermediate Grade History in S3 / 4?

Hi, we're currently doing this. So far we have one S4 Intermediate I class about to sit the exam in May and we have started all this years S3 on Intermediate I/II history. Our topics are The Cold War/ Free at Last/ Social Change in Scotland( for Int2) and Wallace and Bruce (Int1) we have also taught the Slave trade. If you have any questions or anything I'd be happy to let you know what we have found. Fastball

Thanks fastball. The topics you use are pretty much those we have settled on. When do you start your course? Start of S3 or during S2? Text books? (Hodder & Stoughton?) Problems with kids achieving NAB outcomes? Do you intend starting the Higher course before end of S4? (This is possible with some Int course options.) Are you aware that SATH are holding a meeting in Stirling in Feb specifically on Intermediate courses?

Currently starting Intermediate 1/2 in S3 as yet no plans for Higher in S4/ ALthough the first topic of the HIgher (women;s suffrage) will have already been taught in detail in the Social change unit. Have to rush off to Remilitarisation of the Rhineland just now. I tried to email you about the C4 videos, they sound great especially about the chairs. Could you try and email me so we could try and come to some arrangement. I'll look into that SATH conference. I don't think I have renewed my membership.
Not long till the weekend.
