Would anyone be so kind to help me. My school has made a decsion to change the examination board I was using from EDEXCEL to WJEC. As a result of this I am panicking and have no real experience of this board. One of the problems I have is in September we need to start a piece of coursework. We have decided on suffragettes. Unlike EDECEL there are no pre- made assignments. Has anyone got an assignment they could possibly share with me? I know its cheeky but perhaps in return I could share some alternative resources with you.

Also I have quite a large batch of medicine textbooks going cheap. We no longer need them and Im desperate for some space in the cupboard.

Finally any advice you could give me and WJEC would be of great use.

Many thanks

Dear kingsfordhistorian,

I also find myself in thesame position as you. I have to change from EDdexcel to WJEC and have to write a coursework investigation. Can you give me any ideas where I can get help with this?

thank you,

Don't mean to sound patronising, but have you contacted the board? I'm sure I've heard a couple of people talk about exemplar coursework materials they've had from the WJEC.

I'm sure they do unless they have changed them.

We did coursework on the cottages at Rhyd-y-car and the FWW at my last school and they were designed by the WJEC. If he is still there, Phil Starr is the exam officer and is very helpful. Importantly, you can actually get hold of him too!

Here you go; these are the two I'm using and they were emailed directly to me by Phil Starr the History Subject Officer at WJEC, I think there are others.

Attached File  WWI_Women_CSWK_Booklet.doc (1.75MB)
Number of downloads: 57
Attached File  CSWK_Handbook_Intro___JUL06.doc (223K)
Number of downloads: 49
Attached File  HAIG_CSWK_Booklet.doc (150.5K)
Number of downloads: 142

I'm also new to the WJEC course so drop me a line if you have any queries as it may well be something I've already asked about!
