My current school teaches AQA GCSE Humanities as a one-year course in Year 9. It's delivered as part of their History, R.E. and Geography lessons. I can only find two posts about the course on the forum - one a news piece and one with only a couple of replies discussing the pros and cons of the course.

Is everyone teaching the course pretty much using the GCSE Humanities for AQA book? Or are there very few schools doing it? Because they're only Year 9 I feel like I have to spoon-feed them the salient facts, which entirely opposed to my normal teaching style.

It'd be great if anyone currently the course could chime in with how they or their department tackles the course! :)

We are looking to this too, our new Head wants us to teach GCSE AQA Humanities next year and are going to start looking at it in the new year. If you want to swap resources during the year, that would be good.

Hi Doug

We currently teach the full GCSE and have for many years I understand - we do:
Y10
Prejudice and Persecution
Global Inequality
Coursework: Abortion
Y11
Conflict and Co-Operation
Environmental Issues
Revision

Would be happy to share resources - have tons as its ben taught by 12 teachers concurrently to all students as we're a core dept and a very large school (1842 last count). Anything in particular?

I know there's an awful lot of resisitance and scepticism but I love it. Am teaching two Y10 set sixes and they like loads as they see it as been so relevant and important (this is without been told how relevant and important it is I might add which i think speaks for itself!)

Feel free to PM me with more info / detailed request etc
