I just chuckled to myself and took it down.
Thought it would be ok as we are a Media Arts College!

Do you only teach history that doesn't involve guns or violence?
How would you do that?

Isn't that the essence of Britishness and the British History we are now meant to be sharing with our students. The Histories of the Civil Service and Shopkeepers. We never went in for any this violent stuff.
Do we also presume that there are no knives and forks (even plastic ones) in the canteen/refectory at that school? No scalpels in biology? Must have been a little tricky to do much about trafalgar day etc, too...

Brings forward a lot of issues, how will you be able to teach about the British Empire, they will be too shocked by Slavery! I suppose you could invite David Irving to speak about the Holocaust. I suspect these attitudes come from the Americanised training courses the SMT's go to.

Just Photoshop the original poster so it removes the gun and put something completely different in there like a pink feather. Then put the poster up again. It shows the poster is great as it is becoming a talking point. This will keep the discussion going.

Great stuff - what would be good is to either upload the original PowerPoint or produce the .jpg at a higher quality and size.
