38 videos in there at the moment. Mainly ones created by Tony Fox, JDC or myself but also some others that I've found useful.

Hi,

The web site is brilliant and I was all fired up to use at school but our IT guys will not allow me access. Is there any other way I can access these clips on the school history website without using you tube.

Thanks Sue

Avoid the tech-guys by using a proxy server,.... works a treat:

Enjoy all you want in the classroom regardless of the filters placed by techies..... :teacher:

Yes - see previous comments about getting around this problem. vixy.net is one of the ways around it.

Sadly blocked at my place..

Have to say this works a treat as previously recommended by Russel
Zamzar

This allows you to add a link to your favourites and then convert you tube files and download versions you can play on a normal media player.

Amusing, but couldn't use Florence Nightingale in school, too much swearing.

Fantastic new resources.

Thank you very much.

Martin Luther
“All men dream; but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity; but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act out otheir dreams with open eyes, to make it possible.”.(T.E. Lawrence)

I have been using you tube vids in my classroom from my laptop as the techies wont let me install an FLV player on the network, I was sharing ideas with some of our Teaching and Learning team and passed on this idea which one of the English Staff used in their lesson and got a snotty letter in her pigeon hole about using FLV and how it breaks copyright from the tech people. I have told her I will plead ignorant as they can't track what I am doing and it is my own laptop and not connected. Anyone else had this problem - our place seems to be so restricted

Another work-around is to use an FLV player on a USB flash drive - there are several free ones available which will work.

:woo: I've managed to make a movie! :woo:

Elizabeth I

I'm going to use it with Y8 as an intro to lessons might get students to ask what questions they have about her? look for good and bad times in her life? what were the low and highpoints? what changed? how successful? her images from portraits? what facts can they recall about her life?

Hoping for Oscar nominations next year!

Next movie production: Mary Queen of Scots!

You've got a few youtube honours for it already!

Mary Queen of Scots - I've got a 45 minute drama / documentary we did as a G&T project. Somewhere I've got a trailer for it that used the Feelings 'Fill my little world right up' as the soundtrack. Will see if i can dig it out....
