Hi all -
I'm attaching three word documents which give breakdowns of all the content on Timelines.tv. I should have uploaded them weeks ago. Print them out, and you'll have a simple way of seeing the content of the resource - far easier than searching via the index page...
I hope they're useful.
Thanks for the invaluable feedback I've received via the 'contact' page on the site. If anyone else has had a chance to use the resource in the classroom, or has recommended it for homework, do feed back thoughts... thanks!

Wow. An amazing resource. I can see timelines.tv becoming one of my most regularly visited sites.
Can I back up Dafydd's request for some investigations of issues relating to Crime & Punishment? Perhaps something on the medieval justice, manor courts, the rise and fall of highwaymen.......now you've got me started!
Thanks again.
Jason

Excellent resource, you really deserve that BAFTA! I am using the resource as part of an on line teaching unit through MOODLE. Te students can access it at home to answer homework questions and also as a research base for homework projects. I am going to use it in class as well,
thanks a lot,

Empire and how we won the vote were on tv last week, changing lives on BBC2 4am Tuesday morning
Educational resource for Key Stage three. An epic sweep through the social history of Britain, from the Norman Conquest to the Miners’ Strike. It shows how we emerged as the people we are today.

NEW AMERICAN WEST RESOURCE on TIMELINES TV
We've just launched a new resource on Timelines TV – I hope it’s useful.
It’s an on-line version of “Seven Journeys in the American West”, the programme I made for the BBC a few years back. It tells the story of how the West was won (and lost) from the point of view of the pioneer, the emigrant on the wagon trains, the homesteader, the prospector, the rancher, and (topping and tailing the story), a Native American, Black Elk of the Lakota Sioux.
We're still working on it, and we've not launched it formally yet – but we’d love feedback / thoughts. The link is: http://www.timelines...West/index.html.
The resource exploits new technologies that have become available since we launched the History of Britain resource. There’s a slideshow, and a “full screen” option. We’ve also provided a more user-friendly indexing system at the top of the screen (you can link back to the old History of Britain resource here). And there’s a blog, where I'll post topical video / material.
One glitsch with the American West resource, which we’re still trying to fix: the thumbnails on the right hand side (enabling you to jump to a later point in the story) will only work once the entire video has downloaded. Click on them too soon and the screen will freeze. Apologies – we’ll have that sorted in a day or so.
We’re currently in production with some new material for Timelines TV for Medicine Through Time – more news on that in the coming months.
I hope the American West resource proves useful. Do let me know what you think – either here or via the contact form on the site.
Best wishes as ever –
Andrew

New server -
Just to say we've switched Timelines TV to a new server, and some teachers have alerted us that some of the video files on Timelines TV aren't working properly - they other corrupt half way through or buffer endlessly without playing. To check them I need to play through all the material on the site systematically, which will take an age; and I can't do that until I'm back in the UK in late Oct (I'm abroad shooting a drama...). SO - if you've come across clips on Timelines TV that aren't running, please let us know through the 'contact' page - and we'll re-upload those particular clips for you. Thanks!
