Additional section providing information relating to the cost in human life and financial terms.  Essential for a proper understanding of the aftermath of war.
The Death of Hitler
An interesting account of the final days of Hitler.  Source information including Hitler's final will which is of great use to historians.  As always make sure such information is double checked with other sites though such as:
German surrender documents
Very text heavy, but again suitable for specific research.  The entire text enforcing the surrender of the remaining German forces on 8 May 1945.
German surrender images
Two photos accompanied by a short explanation of the above surrender documents being signed.  Part of an excellent WWII timeline.
VE and VJ Day
Extremely useful and accessible explanation of VE and VJ day together with some interesting images.  Links to additional WWII information.
Churchill's VE day speech
Text of the famous speech from the end of the European War.  Useful source material providing insight into the end of part of World War II.
Experiences at the end of the war
Part of the fantastic Civvy Street in WWII site, this section explains about VE and VJ day, accompanied by audio and visual material.  Excellent to understand the contemporary feelings.
Nuremberg war trials
Somewhat commercial examination of the famous war trials following WWII.  Avoiding the adverts and 'Americanisms', some very useful material can be found here.
Causes of the Cold War
Bullet point notes from the History Learning site that list the causes of the Cold War.  An excellent palace to begin with.
Causes of the Cold War
Extremely detailed explanation of the causes of the Cold war, beginning with the consequences of World War II and the mistrust between the Allies.  Useful in combination with the above site.
