How was propaganda used in WWII?
Introduction

It is often said that "World War II was fought on many different fronts".  Historians who say this do not just mean the war was fought in many different geographical areas.  They mean that other aspects of the war were also extremely important.

During WWII, posters and images such as the one shown on the left were used.  Look at the poster (click on it to view a larger version).

What message is it putting across?
How would it make British people feel?

This poster is an example of Propaganda.  According to a dictionary, propaganda is:
"Publicity to put across a certain
idea or message
."

In this lesson you are going to look at a photo to extend your own thoughts and ideas about propaganda.
