Lesson Development
Time: Introduction:

5 Register, settle class.  Go over rules for computer room.
Explain today's task: You are going to test your own understanding of issues related to the First World War.  Using online assessment, you can identify what you understand, and develop, improve and learn what you do not.
Activities:

10 Pupils log onto computer system following school guidelines, following directions to locate WWI revision lesson.  Direct pupils to click on online lessons, select 'WWI revision' and click on lesson title.  Pupils wait at objectives screen.  Read through 'objectives' with the class.  Explain that it is vital they attempt each question fully.  Those who do not will not gain anything from the lesson, and will be forced to repeat it!
40 Instruct pupils to begin lesson (click on 'BEGIN') and follow the instructions carefully.  Check that pupils type answers fully when they reach the extended questions.  Pupils should be instructed to take notes, and print material (if school policy allows) to help with their understanding.  Those who complete the exercise should follow the extension guidelines.
Conclusion:

5 Log off computers following school policy.  Lead brief Q&A session to test knowledge and understanding.  Set homework (as below).  Pack up and dismiss.

Differentiation: Special Needs:
By task using ICT activity, extension activities (additional websites and extension questions) also available on the final screen.
Assessment: Homework / Continuation:
Pupil own via repeated online assessments inherent in the lesson. Teacher led Q&A at end, together with marking of subsequent classwork. Using skills and knowledge gained from the lesson, revise the topic of WWI.  Will be asked one written question similar to the extended questions from the lesson.
