Hi this is my first post so kinda unsure how this works but I need some help I have been asked by my teacher to find out when the iron industry began britain and i can only find things for america so I was wondering if anyone had any idea when it did actually start if you can help then please do because I need this finished by tomorow !

As to your question, it depends what you mean by iron industry. The Weald area of south east England - parts of Kent, Surrey and Sussex - was making iron before the Romans landed. There is a brief introduction here , scroll down to find the information.

However, the main age of iron production in the Weald was from the 16th century until the early 18th century. For example, many tudor cannon were smelted in the Weald. For more detail, have a look at this introduction. If you get really into it, there is a Wealden Iron Research Group website here.
