For my GCSE coursework, I've been given 3 questions based on Elizabeth I of England. The second question is this;
'How and why did the attitude of Phillip II of Spain towards Elizabeth I change during her reign?'
I know the basics of this answer, but I am having difficulty turning what I know into a better, more detailed answer. I would really appreciate any advise or links I can use to help me as soon as possible.
Thanks in advance,

Harvard

I'm very sorry. We cannot assist with GCSE coursework as this breaks the forum's rules and exam boards do not allow this. You could be accused of cheating by getting help online.

What you can do though is complete some limited research on the internet - try the following sites:
http://www.spartacus.../TUSphilip2.htm
http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/state/monarch...armada_01.shtml
http://www.elizabethi.org/

Additional help, I am afraid, will have to come in consultation with your teacher.

 I need help, I don't know what to write for a question I was given.
It says:
How successful was Elizabeth I in dealing with the problems posed by (i.) Catholics and (ii.) Puritans during her reign?

Please help :D

Thanks

Hi - please can you use the forum search (link in the yellow box at the top) and you'll find the answer to your question easily.

Give it a try and then post again if you need some help :)

As there doesn't seem to be much readily available, here are a few pointers.

Some names of privy councillors, for you to look up on Google or wherever:
William Cecil, later Lord Burghley
Robert Cecil, William's son
Robert Dudley, Earl of Leicester
Robert Devereux, Earl of Essex

The Privy Council was made up of a mixture of important noblemen (e.g. Earl of Leicester) and men who had risen to power because of their ability and loyalty (e.g William Cecil). The Council gave advice to Queen Elizabeth and then carried out her decisions. Most of the work was done by a small 'inner circle' of professional advisers led, for much of her reign, by William Cecil. Examples of areas where the Council gave advice are: foreign policy (e.g. relations with Spain), the question of Elizabeth's marriage and religious policy. Councillors also carried out administrative tasks such as: overseeing finances, meeting ambassadors, overseeing parliamentary business and drafting correspondence.

I hope that this helps.
