Yes!

You can find out how and why the Industrial Revolution took place at http://www.schoolshistory.org.uk/Industria...ution/index.htm

Then extend your knowledge further with the links on http://www.schoolhis...dustrial9.shtml

?kiki-boo - who or what are 'samage people'?

You are right that it is hard to find much on the web about the causes of the Industrial Revolution.

Here is a list of ideas:
  • A growth in demand, probably as a result of the growth in population, but also because of the opening up of the export market.
  • Technological change and innovation - the use of machinery.
  • The use of unskilled, cheap labour (allowed by the introduction of machinery)
  • A move to bigger units of production - the factory system.
  • A change in location, away from south-east of England. The first factories were situated in the hills of Lancashire and Yorkshire near to fast-flowing streams, which could power the water-wheels. With the invention of the steam engine, however, factories were sited on the coalfields of the north of England and Scotland.
  • Improvements in transport - road, canals and (ultimately) railways.

This site has some more ideas.

For your essay, take each one in turn, find out some stuff about it, and then explain HOW it helped to create an industrial revolution.
