Well usually each topic we finish we have to do a essay. Well i first essay as from the second week i started Year 10 was `What were the attitudes of the Big three at versailles and who would have been most content with it's outcome? ` Well i understand the first part of the attitued of the Big Three but on the second part i get confused, ` who would have been most content with it's outcome? ` Well at the end The Big Three did not get what they requested as they had to compromise, but im not sure if it right?? :(

Sounds to me as if you do understand this pretty well ......

As you rightly point out, each of the Big Three had to compromise. What you need to do in the second part of your essay is point out how far each of them got what they wanted. Although the question implies that you only need to choose ONE person and to write about that one, in actual fact a really good answer will consider all three (pointing out where he would have been satisfied and where he would not) before coming to an overall conclusion. In the end you do need to say which one you consider had had to compromise least of all.

Make sure you do point out though that NONE of them was entirely content with the outcome.

I hope that helps?

Well i got another question, why did the germans resent the treaty of versailles and how justified was this position?
Ok, i get why the germans resent the treaty because they were blamed for the war and lost a few areas, and had to pay the money which they never did but How Justified was this position??? I dont get the How Justified was this position? I dont know what to write in the answer about how justified was this position. thanks for taking ur time reading my problem.

Yes. You seem to understand the basics of why the Germans resented the Treaty - though there is rather more to mention than you touch on here. (Though I appreciate that you may well just be indicating that you understand the question and thus not mentiioning things you do actually know/are aware of.)

What this means in plain English is this: 'Do you think that the Germans were right to feel as they did about the Treaty of Versailles?' The question actually asks HOW justified ....... so that means that you have to say how far they were right to feel resentful. When you get a question like that it is vital that you provide a clear and direct answer, so you must say that you think they were completely justified/right to feel resentful OR that they were not at all justified/right to feel resentful OR that they were partly justified/right to feel resentful. Obviously you then need to go on to provide an explanation for the opinion you have given.

Does that help? If not then do post again.

Im doing this topic also. An easy way of getting round all the facts is to write up a table listing The Big Three (USA, Frace and Britain), The German People ect and writing there opinions next to it. Have this handy when you write essays or answer questions and it stops you gettin confused about peoples viewpoints and opinions.

You May want to look at this. TREATY OF VERSAILLE REVISION NOTES
