i need a little help with a research assessment, the actual question is "to what extent did NAZI Germany's foreign policy, in the period 1933-1941, reflect Hitlers foreign policy views as expressed in 'Mein Kampf' and his attitude towards the treaty of versailles? in relation to this list the 1)foreign policy aims of nazi germany
2)responses by foreign governments to Nazi foreign policies3)the extent to which war was a possible outcome of nazism.
however all i really need is some reliable links to relavent sites pertaining this information. commenty's are welcome :) thanks

Is this really a GCSE question??? (You have posted in the 14-16 section of the Forum) It sounds more like A Level to me. If that is the case do let us know and I will move your message to the appropriate part of the Forum,

As to your question here are some relevant links though I don't guarantee that they all address your specific needs directly:
http://mars.acnet.wnec.edu/~grempel/course...r/lectures.html - see Lecture 14 especially
http://66.102.9.104/search?q=cache:VElckHW...lient=firefox-a
http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~semp/origins.htm

Your question 2 is a pretty big one and I have yet to address that one. ;)

To be honest I think you would be much better off reading books of which the following can be recommended:
  • I. Kershaw, The Nazi Dictatorship. Problems and Perspectives of Interpretation, (Fourth edition, London, 2000)
  • C. Leitz, Nazi Foreign Policy, 1933-1941: The Road to Global War, (London, 2003)
  • J. Noakes & G. Pridham, Nazism 1919-1945. Vol. 3 Foreign Policy, War and Racial Extermination. A Documentary Reader
Presumably you have a course textbook? That should be a good starting point and may well have a decent bibliography.

If you are a GCSE candidate then Mr Clare's excellent site particularly the Road to War section and the hyperlinks from it to more detailed information would be the best place for you.

Does it really seem like an A level? my teacher gives me questions like this frequently. Thanks for the links and book references, i'll check them out. the text book that i am supposed to use isn't very detailled according to my teacher, it's the textbook GCSE Germany 1918-1945 by Lacey Shephard.
thanks again for the info :)

Well yes. This is a more demanding question than the ones usually set at GCSE, but then if you are an able student (possibly in a selective school) then your teacher is right to attempt to 'stretch' you in this way.

I was working on the assumption that you really were and A Level student who had inadvertently posted in the 14-16 section of this Forum. The links still hold good for your research (especially Mr Clare's and his 'extension' links) but I think you may find the books I recommended a bit hard going since these are ones that I would have recommended to an A Level student seeking to go beyond the basic core textbooks for that level.

What would probably be most helpful for you is actually an A Level textbook covering Nazi Foreign Policy. I don't know how easily you might have access to these, but if your own school teaches this at A Level I'd ask your teacher first.

Let me know if you want recommendations for these.

Well apart from the ones I mentioned in the earlier message (which are probably way too difficult for you right now) you would probably find any of the following helpful.

Hitler and Nazi Germany (Cambridge Perspectives in History)
~Frank McDonough
Cambridge University Press

Hitler and Nazi Germany (Questions & Analysis in History Series.)
Stephen J. Lee

Hitler and the Road to War (Questions in History Series.)
Ted Townley
This one is probably the best for your purposes and as a GCSE candidate. It's very straightforward

War and Peace: International Relations, 1919-39 (Access to History Series.)
David Williamson
Good for the attitudes/reactions of other countries.

Hitler and the Origins of the Second World War (Access to History - In Depth Series.)
Graham Darby

No. A (dvanced) Level is what you do in Years 12 and 13 and is the next step on from GCSE. You need to do A Level in at least 3 subjects in order to get a place at University.
