Could any body let me know what guernica was i need help tonight for my essay that has 2 be completed for 2moro please HELP

Guernica is a town in Northern Spain. It's particularly well known because in 1937 during the Spanish Civil War it was subjected to a horrifying aerial bombing raid by Hitler's 'Condor Legion'.(Hitler supported Franco in the Spanish Civil War and was using this as a sort of 'tresting ground') This was pretty much the first time that civilians had been attacked from the air during war time and it was (rightly) seen as the way war could be fought in the future. In the UK it scared people to death and is one of the reasons why there was much public support for Chamberlain's attempts to appease Hitler during the late 1930s.

Picasso painted a very famous picture called 'Guernica' that commemorates the attack.
