]Hey, I am doing practise exam question about nazi germany. one of the questions is 'How do you account for the policies adopted by te Nazi regime towards women in the years 1933-1939' and I am have trouble with the wording of this question (how do you account). Thanks B)

All 'how do you account for ......?' means is 'how do you explain .....?' In other words this means 'Why did the Nazis follow the sort of policies that they did concerning women in the years 1933 - 1939?'

So ..... you will need to explain about basic Nazi ideology which saw women's main role being in the home looking after the family etc. Of course it suited the government to emphasise that a woman's 'duty' was to get married, have lots of pure Aryan children and be a home-maker because that took women out of the work place and made the employment statistics look good as well as increasing the population.

I expect you have learned all about this, but if you need more help just say.
