I assume you are doing a GCSE course which includes a Depth Study of America? If that's the case, most textbooks covering this topic will have at least something on the movie industry during this period. Are you sure you are not just ignoring your text book?
For more detail see these links:
http://kclibrary.nhm...u/decade20.html .... this page has a great deal on American cultural history during the '20s and a section on 'Theatre Film and Radio' with links to more detail on 'Film' (=cinema)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cinema_of_the...ge_of_Hollywood .... see the section on 'The Golden Age of Hollywood' and the hyperlinks within that section
http://www.filmsite.org/filmh.html .... this has a 'History of Motion Pictures' by decade so just scroll down and click on the links for the 1920s
I don't know what search strategies you were using but I didn't have any trouble finding these links.
I used Google and the terms cinema +history +america ..... and after that a bit of common sense.
Generally, using the key terms of what you are looking for produces results, though sometimes you need to think 'outside the box' a bit. For example 'movies' instead of 'cinema'
