Robin Hood. Who is Robin Hood?

I have read many different stories about who Robin Hood is so its made a bit complicating, and for some reason
I just don't get it.

that is a very gd question, he was a high way man that, used to hyjack the rich people in the horse and carts. and he was not a very rich man but he was a very respected man and everyone loved him, except the rich .lol. so he took from the rich and gave t the poor. he was a very gd archor and he never got caught. kk hope that helpsx

Sorry, APple, but you have been watching too much television.

Robin Hood did not exist
He MAY be an amalgam of several different outlaws from different periods of history, but it's more likely that he's entirely made up.
And the 'rob from the rich and give to the poor' certainly never happened until the Welfare State.

The Robin Hood books were banned in the USA during McCarthy's era because he was thought to be a communist!
