Hiya,
I'm really confused about how the Battle of Britain and Dunkirk has affected morale at beginning of the Blitz. I read some websites about both and was given a general idea that they are both small victories for Britain which would of boosted the morale in Britain. However in the battle of Britain there seem to be a high casualty and death rate so wouldn't they have caused low morale? Also, the RAF seemed to be losing at the beginning before 15th September so before then would there be generally low morale?
Im sorry if im not very clear especially since i might not of got my facts right either!! Thank you for your time and any help you may give!

You are mistaken, LittleBee
Dunkirk was a HUGE defeat for Britain - an absolute disaster
The Battle of Britain was - eventually - a victory, but only just, and very expensive in loss of young pilots, and for a time it looked as though we were going to lose; we only 'won' because Hitler stopped it and turned instead to night-bombing (the Blitz).
The reason they seem to you to have been victories is that you have seen some of the government propaganda of the time, which 'saw the good' in the worst situations.
Thje government HAD to keep people going, so it touted Dunkirk as a 'triumh of discipline' and public spirit, and it said of the Battle of britain 'never was so much owed by so many to so few'.
You will find on m website good pages on Dunkirk - http://www.johndclare.net/wwii5.htm - and on he Battle of Britain - http://www.johndclare.net/wwii6.htm
