I need a little help, some links or useful facts would be greatly appreciated. I need to make some notes on 'WW2 recruitment's how did it affect civilian life?'any help appreciated. Thanks in advance

Well, the obvious point to start on is conscription. All men aged 18 - 41 bar coalminers, firemen and doctors were conscripted into the army.

The rest of the workforce, which now included women* (1941 - women under 50 and men over 41 had to work in factories), were disrupted under the terms of the Emergency Powers Act (May 1940) where the govt. could tell the workers to work wherever in the country they were needed.

* 6 million women worked in factories by May 1942 and by 1943, 57% of the work force were female.

This is just a few parameters, it by no means fully answers your question.
