I can't find out who was the inventor of the fire, and who was the inventor of the wheel. Of cource I understand that nobody knows the name of the person which invented it, but I an already happy when i find out when and where. On the internet I get totally different answers, and I don't know which is the right one. Some say that the fire is invented by the homini erecti (Homo erectus, plural), and some say that it is invented by the homini sapientes(plural Homo sapiens). Who can I trust? Help me please... :(

(P.S. sorry for the terrible grammatical errors)

Wow!

This is a really hard question to answer.

I suggest that you follow what you have found out on the net (plus perhaps looking in some good old fashioned books?)

Clearly there is no absolute answer to this. So perhaps you should say that in your essay. Explain that there is no absolute agreement amongst historians and archeologists about the inventors of fire and the wheel. You can then sight your sources by giving web addresses or authors of books etc.

Not all questions have absolute answers in history, especially ones about prehistoric periods when we do not have the benefit of written sources to look at.

However that is part of the "fun" of history and you could use this as an opportunity to be the advanced historian who explains that there is no absolute answer to your teacher's question!
