You get some really interesting homeworks!!!
Have you come across this site - Art Detective - with the answers at http://www.virtualartroom.com/texts/rousseauA2.doc. Is this interesting? Loads of info here. In one website, Ben Shechet of Princeton argues that the cats in Rousseau's paintings represent Rousseau himself - isolated, flat, puzzling. Interesting facts? That is a hard one because what you think of as 'interesting' is such a personal thing, but for me it has to be the fact that Rousseau is famous for his jungle scenes ... but he had never seen a jungle - he just made them up from visits to the botanical gardens and the zoo!
