Unlikely, andrea.
This help forum is run by Britsh teachers who - even if they were old enough to have taken part - woul not have had the money to fly over to the States to do so!
You'll have to get your experiences vicariously, like the rest of us!
Try this site for basic facts: http://www.lucidcafe...96jan/king.html (more here.)
and this site has some nice sourcework vignettes: http://www.learningc...oesvillains/g6/.
If I were you, for EXPERIENCES, I would watch the dvd The Long Walk Home with Whoopi Goldberg, which is just about as good a 'way in' to the actual experience of the Civil Rights Movement as I can recommend.
And why don't you search YouTube.com for 'Martin Luther King" and "Civil Rights Movement" - you'll turn up dozens of videos, including the famous 'I have a dream speech', one of the greatest speeches of all time.
There are a whole load of other links to follow on this webpage: http://www.besthisto...vilRights.shtml
Happy hunting.
