Hello, recently at school i completed my last piece of coursework consisting of two questions on women's emancipation.
My teacher told me that my answer to the second question is 1475 words when it should have, ideally, been around 900. However, my teacher would like to write a 'disclaimer' for the piece as cutting out any information, to shorten the length, would affect the quality of my answer.
I am a little puzzled. Is this disclaimer kosher, will my answer still be marked? Is there any risks?
I would really like to know as soon as possible as we have already started a different topic and the thought of rewriting a shorter essay is stressing me out.
Thank you.

Well, the best person to ask about this is your own teacher. They are in charge of your coursework and thus in the best position to advise. It sounds like you've gone rather overboard with the length of your piece and your teacher wants to help you sort it out.
I haven't heard of such a technique before, but it sounds like your teacher is will to add some additional comment to explain why the length of work is justified. Sounds like a very positive and supportive teacher to me!
You do have to approach your own teacher directly though.
