Probably too late for you but just in case....

Sport in Victorian England

What is Sports History? Very academic....

Yahoo Directory has some sports History websites - some look ok, some erm... don't....

Sports historian - again this is very academic stuff as its written for Uni students / researchers.

I'm not familiar with a syllabus that includes the History of Sport in it so can't offer much more than this I'm afraid. It is a fascinating topic though - one that I studied at Universty and very nearly took up as a Masters subject.
