It's a (6) point question I've never done before, I searched for past papers and markscheme but I could not find any help.

source A
I claim the justice which is due to my people and the assistance promised eigtht months ago. On many ocassions I have asked for financial assistance fo the purchase of arms. That assistance has been constantly refused me. The problem is a much wider one than Italy's agression. It is the very existence of the League of Nations. God and History will remember you judgement. Are you going to set a terrible example of giving in to force?

Haile Selassie, Emperor of Abyssinia, speaking to the Assembly of the League of Nations, 30 June 1936.

source B
Italy views the work she has undertaken in Abyssinia as a sacred mission of civilisation, and proposes to carry it out according to the principles of the Covenant of the League of Nations. Italy will consider it an honour to inform the League of Nations of the progress achieved in her work of civilising Abyssinia.

A message from the Italian government to the League of Nations,30 June 1936. It was meant as a reply to Haile Selassie's speech.

QUESTION: STUDY SOURCE G AND H.WOULD THE MEMBERS OF THE LEAGUE OF NATIONS HAVE AGREED WITH HAILE SELASSIE(SOURCE G) OR WITH THE ITALIAN GOVERNMENT(SOURCE H)?EXPLAIN YOUR ANSWER.

It would be nice to have the sample essay. Please tell me how to write it, thanks!

This is a REALLY hard either-or question!

Start by writing:
Many of the delegates would have agreed with Halie Selassie
... then explain all the facts and ideas which would have made them want to agree with Halie Selassie (tip: think about the Covenant an the aims of the LoN).

Then write:
HOWEVER, many of the delegates would have felt inclined to agree with the Italian government
... then explain why (tip: think about the weaknesses of the League, and the Hoare-Laval Pact, and the League's attitude towards weaker, non-European nations)

Finally, write a conclusion beginning:
Overall...
... then weigh the two sides, and use some new knowledge to decide which most of them plumped for (thin: what happened in the end).

This site will give you all the facts and ideas you need.
