Hey,
Were there warheads already in Cuba during the 13 days of crisis?
I checked out some websites online but they say the different thing (some say yes and some say no), I don't know which is true.
Having warheads in Cuba or not does change the whole situation a lot.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

I think it seems fairly certain that the USSR had nuclear warheads in Cuba, but that the USA did not know that at the time.
As I understand it, I think the Russian ships were carrying the missiles which could carry the warheads - but the US thought they were bringing the warheads and the missiles.
(I stand to be corrected on that, mind you.)

In April 1961 the CIA encouraged, funded and transported an attempt by anti-Castro Cuban exiles to invade Cuba. It failed miserably, greatly embarrassing Kennedy.
Before 1959, a pro-American dictator had ruled Cuba; when he was deposed by the rebel Fidel Castro, America was displeased - especially when Castro turned Communist and started co-operating with the Russians.
They wanted to get rid of Castro, and an invasion by anti-Castro Cubans seemed to be a good way.
At first Kennedy was against it, but he was convinced by the CIA that it would be OK; it wasn't.
Its outcome was the Cuban Missiles Crisis, because as a result in September 1961, therefore, Castro asked for - and Russia publicly promised - weapons to defend Cuba against America.
Google it, but see especially this site, which will give you the basic imformation.

However, it is one possible interpretation of the facts.

First, bunny, please don't forget to say please; everyine does on this forum.
Secondly:
what were the political social and economic causes of the Cuban revolution?
what are three of fidel castros economic policies that strongly reflected socialism?
what were two ways that cuba acted as an ally to the soviet union during the 1960's?
