hey, i'm taking IGCSE this year in JUne, the problem is the school i go to is really bad, my history teacher SUCKS! he've nvr taught history before and knows nothing about the IGz... so, for hisotry, i'm studyni by mysel at home... and im scared that what i'm studying now is not enough...
so i need ur help in several things.
firstly, for paper 2, which is going to be on GErman's intervention in the Spanish civil war.. my book doesn't include the spanish civil war and i feel like what I have found in the internet is not enough PLUS I have NEVER done sourcework and studying cartoons .. so can you please show how i'm supposed to answer questions on sources and cartoons?!?!
Secondly,For my depth study i'm thinking of doing the palestinian-isreali conflict since i find it very intersting,,, the problem is, my teacher said it's better not to because it's a controvertioal issues and i might loose points if my views are nto the same as theirs.. is this true?!?!
Lastly, i want to know how i could answer the typical history questions..For example if the question is 5 marks.. how chould i answer the questions..
If it's 8 marks, how many paragraphs must it contain
Also i have a real big problem in writing conclusions.. how should it be, what should i include in conclusions???
thanks

Wow - a lot of questions here.
Firstly, keep your head - it's never as black as you think!
Don;t rush at it and panic and try to do everything all at once.
Make a list of things youneed to do before the exam, and then address them and tick them off one-by-one.
OK.
There is loads - quife enough - far too much - on th internet.
As always, start with the HistoryLearning site.
Then get the sequence of events straight in your head.
And then skim the internet by doing a google search to 'go deeper' on the key events/issues.
Start by looking at this page. Ead this page on how to interpret a cartoon. And then check out how to do certain kinds of sourcework essay in detail here.
It will be OK only as long as you don't use the essay to reveal your feelings - you must be disapssionate and objective.
The way to work out how much to write is to find out the length of the exam, anf the tota number of marks, and work out a 'time-per-mark' that you should spend.
(e.g of the exam is 105 minutes and carried 50 marks, that's about 2 miutes per mark - so you would spend 16 minutes on an 8-mark question.
Try this thread.
