Me and my class are starting a stretch where we work a lot on our exam technique for unit 6 (Nazi Germany). I was wondering if I could get some top tips to be thinking about. Anything in the way of a formal structure for making each point whilst using the sources would be excellent. I have had my own idea about how to best tackle a source paper, perhaps someone could offer some feed back:

1. Open with what the source is saying (choose the source that is mostly in agreement with what the question is asking)
2. Provide a short quote from the source to show how you got to your analysis
3. Then say how this point relates to the focus of the question
4. Finally add in some of my own knowledge to show how this actually took place.

Many thanks for any and all responses.

What a very good and perceptive question, which I don't feel qualified to answer (I only teach up to GCSE).
I am going to post a plea for help for you on the teachers' forum.
Look back in a couple of days and see if anyone has been able to help.

If there is no reply, bump this thread to remind me (by adding a post), and I will do the best I can, but lets see if we can have a reply from someone who actually teaches A level.

A teacher named 'Helen S' has posted this document on the teacher's forum.
I'm sure you'll wish to thank her.

Certainly :) How might I go about that though? :o

Thanks a lot Helen S for the fab response! I'll be sure to re-read it several times.
