I've got a D in my OCR A2 module, Historical Investigations. I'm so upset and angry because I don'y know why I've got this result; I was expecting an A, at least a B. I am very upset about my result now and an considering gettting a re-mark and my paper back to see what happened. I fear I might have messed up the source question but no way did I think I'd get a D. Looks like I'm going to have to resit the exam this summer. Could somebody give me some advice/help on how to do well in this paper please? I've reas the markschemes and reports and that didn't help me much. I don't know what to do...

It's always disappointing when you fall short, especially when you can't understand why.
Sometimes it IS because of a marker's error.

First of all, ask to see the mark you got on the paper.
If it's WELL short of a Grade C, ask for the paper to be re-totalled, then you ca make sure the marker hasn't missed a question off when adding your marks up.

If it's close, might be worth asking for a complete remark.

Either way, ask for your marked paper to be returned; then you can sit dn with the markscheme and your teacher and see where you went wrong.

Sometimes schools get a bit snotty about asking for re-marks/return of papers - it costs mney.
If necessary, bring your parenst into it.

But you will need to act quickly - there is only a brief window for requests.
