Hey man,

Could somebody please explain what OCR, AQA and Excedel are?

How are they different? Are they under Cambridge?

I am confused.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much.

Along with Cambridge, they are all different exam boards, and they all offer slightly different versions of the GCSEs.
It gives schools a bit of a choice - they find that their pupils perform better using one or the other syllabus.

You can look them up on the internet, and see the slightly different History syllabi they offer.

Right, thank you.

Do you know whether there are any schools in the UK which register for IGCSE instead of the GCSE? Because that would mean they most probably offer AICE too. I have Googled so much (many pages) but to no avail.

Many schools in the UK are staring to offer IGCSE because it is more demanding than GCSE and 'counts' for more.

I don't know if any schools off AICE - I will ask on the teachers' forum.
