Hi John.

This isn't cheating, but it is a big ask, and I suspect the answer may well be no.
We normally refuse to mark pupils work on the forum.
The teachers who help on the forum do so for free, in their spare time, and you will appreciate that - if we even once set the precedent that we were prepared to mark people's work - offering even a very limited marking service would be just too much to ask of unpaid volunteers who have enough marking of their own to do every night anyway!

However, I can see that your's is a VERY special case, and that you will be very anxious to get some idea of what standard the work you are doing is.

What I will do is to ask on the Teachers' Forum if there is any kind IGCSE teacher who would be prepared to help in your very special circumstances, and you might find that there is a kind teacher who will help.
However please be aware that every teacher at the moment is desperately preparing their own pupils for the exams and that - seeing as that is the job which brings in the salary - they are all just too busy to find the time, in which case I am afraid we wil have to disappoint you.

In the meantime, there are two things you can do:
1. This webpage gives you the (very detailed, and including specific examples) markschemes for the 2007 IGCSE exam. If you look it up - especially if you can find an adult to work with you - you should be able to use the markschemes to grade your own answers.
2. This webpage gives examples of pupils' answers to different types of GCSE question, and explains in great detail what mark they got and why. You will have to remember that it is a slightly different exam to yours (it is the AQA GCSE) - BUT the pupils are the same age and the exam is VERY similar in the kind of things it is asking and the answers it expects. So it should help you get some sort of idea of what is needed.

OK?

If you post your answers (along with which paper they are from), I may have some time tomorrow to have a look while I invigilate my A level mock. I can't promise anything though.

OK

5.
a. 5/5

b. 7/7

c. 4/8 Could do with some more factual details (such as naming Brest Litovsk rather than just referring to it. Also, you need to address the war guilt clause and the fact that the Germans felt that they were negotiating rather than being 'dealt with.

6.

a. 3/5 (You need to be more specific for a 5, i.e. name one or two of the mechanisms that the league used like, for example, the International Court of Justice)

b. 3/7 ( Nowhere near enough depth for level 3, see the markscheme for details)

c. 5/8 (again, more details needed for high level 4 or level 5. You get 5 because you do explain that there were both successes and failures, but there is very little development of your explanations.)

Sorry it took so long to get to you, but, as you can imagine, this is a hectic term.

You clearly understand the concepts, if you can increase the depth of your examples you will do very well.

Good luck
