Hello, and this is my first post, so i'll shorten it as much as possible. I am a GCSE student and am currently doing Jack the Ripper, now theres a little
problem(o). i unfortunately have a habit of writing a bit too much, 22 pages to be precise - actually 22 and a half. but anyway my teacher miss. polden said that i had to keep it short and only up to 2 pages! i cant do that! so i need immediate help on how to shorten stuff up and an effective way of making i get all the marks. people who can be of help will be appreciated and added to Fazz man's special recommendations box!!!
thank you!

You need to sort out WHY you are writing so much.

Is it because you are including loads of irrelevant stuff - long narratives and descriptions with are, if you are honest, tangential to the main argument? if so, leave them out.

Is it because you are filling up the page with huge long quotes to prove your point? If so, select the short phrase from the uote which REALLY proves the point and use only that.

Is it because you incredibly wordy, going round and round the houses to explain your point? If so, read through your essay, and paraphrase it down paragraph by paragraph so that only the absolute nub is stated.

Or is it because you have 22 pages of honed, directed, proved argument? In which case hand in the 22 pages.

If you are a normal pupil, my guess would be 1 or 2!
