I want to know what my son has to prepare for the paper 1 on the 3rd of June. Is the paper just on the American west or is it on Medicine through time as well ? I think Paper 2 is Medicine Through Time only.

Please don't be alarmed that I have moved this thread into the 14-16 section where it belongs.

I don't teach OCR personally but, according to the OCR specification:

Paper 1, Section A covers the Studies in Development. On each of the Studies, one compulsory
source-based question and three structured questions, from which candidates answer one, are
set.
Paper 1, Section B tests the Studies in Depth. On each of the Studies, one compulsory sourcebased
question and two structured questions, from which candidates answer one, are set.

Paper 2 is set on the chosen Study in Development, and consists of a source-based investigation
of an historical issue. Candidates answer all questions. The specification for each year will
indicate the broad area of content from which the specific topic for the paper will be drawn.

You can find past markschemes here, but they're not so useful without the exam papers - your son's school should be able to provide these, however, if you go in after half term.
