Hi all, new to these forums so I might make a few mistakes in this.

My higher exam is in 5 days, and I can't do 8 mark questions. Does anyone have any possible advice that they could give me on how to do 8-markers, even if it's only to get 5 out of the 8 marks, aiming for a B and I figure that the 8 marker is kind of essential!

Thanks much :)

You can have a look at the markschemes for the 2008 paper here, which should give you some idea of what you need to do to do a good answer.
The levels of response are:

Quote

1-3 Selects relevant evidence from the sources and/or from recalled knowledge but without making the required evaluation.
4-6 Selects evidence from the sources and uses limited recalled knowledge to inform a basic evaluation in terms of the question.
7-8 Establishes the main points in the sources and uses recalled knowledge to inform a developed evaluation in terms of the question.

Note that our wonderful A Finemess has posted some excellent advice on doing your highers here, here, here, here and here, including advice on how to do an 8-marker.
