I'm doing my A-levels in the next few weeks, and I need an A in history. Over the course of the 4 units I've done so far (2,3 and 4) im 13 marks off an A, and I'm resitting unit 1 for the 3rd time this on Tuesday. Until college history was my strongest subject, in the run up to doing the Unit 1 exam in January of the first year I was getting full marks in every practice paper, including a mock in exam conditions, but then I got a B in the actual exam. I've been on a B in every unit so far, missed the A on Unit 4 by 1 mark, but I really need to make sure I get an A.
My history teacher has told me that I tend to waffle on, which is true, over the last few months I've managed to work back up to the A grade by spending a long time looking at the sources, but I know I won't be able to do this in the exam, particularly for the Unit 1 resit which is only an hour long. It's crucial that I get an A in History, so I'd be grateful for any help.

Examiners know you're working under pressure in the exam, and are more forgiving.
Your key issue seems as though it will be timing; don't spend too long planning/thinking, and then run out of time to write your answer. Alloc ate yourself timeslots for each, and then keep to them.
Is this any use?
The key in any exam is to - as efficiently as possible - gove the examiner what he's looking for, and the markscheme should help you.
Before yu go into the exam, have a clear idea in your mind of HOW you intend to go about looking for the answer (the different ideas and technqiues you will apply), and planning your answer.
