Hello, my name is max and i am just wondering how i should answer the different types of questions.
For example if the question is "What was the boxer revolution" how would i start to answer that question? My teacher has told me about bouncing question words back into your answer but honestly, i havent a clue what he was on about.
Also as my exam is on tuesday (now saturday) is there any immediate way of helping me to learn the dates of the events, i know what is going on in the chronoligical order, just dont know the dates, can be very frustrating when a question pops up like this " describe the key features of the civil rights movement between 1950 and 1960"

Thank you in advance,
Max

My teacher used to call it 'dry stone wall', which was even more obscure!!!
What he means is you keep using the words of the question - appropriately turned around - in your answer.
So, if the question is: 'Why did the Boxer Revolution break out', you begin your first paragraph: 'The first reason the Boxer Rebellion broke out was that...'
Or, if the question is: 'How far was the Second World War the product of the First?', you keep using phrases like: 'Another way the First World War produced the Second was...' or 'One cause of the Second World War which was in no way a product of the First was...'
YES it's boring but it doen't half keep you relevant!

There has recently been a really good thread on this on the forum - click here.
