Hi there!
I am very confident about my gcse history exam (AQA Specification B ) coming up on Wednesday.
However, I was analysing the questions they ask in the papers, and I believe that I am capable of obtaining full marks for questions a, b and c for the first two sections, but question d, where it asks you to explain which of two events was more important for the development of the Cold War for example, seems to be quite tricky. I have however, come up with a structure for the essay, and I would be extremely happy if you could tell me how I would improve this structure to obtain higher marks:
INTRODUCTION:
Explain the relevance/significance of both events ( which they have bullet pointed in the question)
BODY:
Overview of the stages of the events, the causes and the effects which they had; relating this to the question
CONCLUSION:
My own opinion on which was the more important, reinforced by some of the points raised in the body of my essay.
Thank you for your time.

The three key words for this question are - for BOTH events:
to describe the event
to explain its effect (on the issue mentioned in the questioned)
to assess its importance.
Look at this page, which will help you understand how to gain good marks on this question.
Get back in touch if there is anything you want to discuss.
